MicroSpell is an advanced spell checking utility. This program is actually so complex that it can discourage some users. When it first hits you with all its features, windows, options, tools, inbox, outbox and other functions or weird terms, you may want to give up and try another application. It all depends on your personality and needs. In any case, this piece of software is intended for users that have a lot of spell checking to do. After you get familiar with this tool and learn all its secrets, you may find it indispensable.
Probably the greatest thing about this utility is the way it approaches spell checking itself. Instead of focusing on one word at a time, it allows the user to see all the misspelled words and all the suggested corrections in an easy-to-see format. In one single window, called Inbox, you have a clearly organized list, separated in rows and columns, showing you: misspelled words, a few auto-detected possible corrections, the context in which the mistake was found (part of the phrase) and the occurrence number. It may sound more complicated than it actually is but when you’ll see it for yourself, you’ll understand why this approach is much clearer, straightforward and time-effective.
User-friendliness may not be at its best but this utility compensates with other things, like the ability to use a shortcut key (CTRL+F12) to automatically check the text you are viewing in an application. more
